Every verse is taken directly from the New World Translation (NWT), published by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society.
The scriptures tell us that Jesus was tempted in all points yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). We see in the first book of the bible, Genesis, that man was created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27), but wasn’t man also created in the image of Jesus (Genesis 1:26)? It is obvious that Jehovah’s Witnesses, plus a few other religions, believe that The Father is God and the Son is the Christ, the Son of God. It is beyond our understanding and comprehension to understand the fullness of God . .
“I am bearing witness to everyone that hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone makes an addition to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this scroll; and if anyone takes anything away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God will take his portion away from the trees of life and out of the holy city, things which are written about in this scroll." (Revelation 22:18-19)
If you have studied the history of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, you would know that the earlier releases of the NWT said to worship Christ. Why did they change and replace it with the word obeisance in the 1984 revision? That is not making the light brighter, that is changing the light. Obeisance is only giving reverence when worship is only for the creator. The NWT revision of 1970 states in Luke 6:4 that we are to only worship Jehovah God, but then in Hebrews 1:6, the 1970 revision states that all God’s angels worship Jesus. The newer 1984 revision of the NWT replaced “worshipped” with “obeisance”, and so it was given a totally different meaning. The NWT was written by non-scholars. The book ... brings that out. That is one reason why there have been revisions made to the NWT over the decades.
“…since the angels are commanded to worship the glorified Jesus at his second coming, should not we, who, as humans, are so much less than angels, likewise worship him? In answer we say, We must render to him what God’s Word says we must.” The Watchtower, May 15, 1954, pg.318
“However, the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken? When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it…” (Deuteronomy 18:20-22)
In an article of The Watchtower from April 1st 1972 on page 197 the organization claims to be God’s prophet. Here are a few of the prophesies claimed by the organization:
1873 - The 1000 year reign of Christ begins
1914 - Armageddon has ended
1915 - Earth’s rulership replaced with God’s rulership
1929 - The mansion, Beth Sarim, was constructed to house Old Testament saints. It was sold in 1948. Rutherford, a former president of the organization, eventually moved into it until his death.
1932 - The overthrow of Christendom.
1975 - The beginning of the Millenium. Why did many Jehovah’s Witnesses leave the Watchtower Organization during the 1970s?
“For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.” (Matthew 24:24)
When do you think the disciples of Christ believed who Christ said he was? We see many instances where the disciples thought he was just a prophet, or only the Christ. One instance is where Christ spoke and the waves became calm in Mark. The disciples were amazed but before Christ spoke they were afraid that they were going to parish because they didn’t have much faith in him. They thought the circumstance was too large for Christ. Ultimately the disciples finally realized who Christ truly was after they had seen the risen Savior (John 20:28).
Jesus never called himself “the Messiah”, “Savior/iour” or “God”. The Pharisees, his disciples, angels, Old Testament prophets, saints and others, called him Messiah (Mark 8:29), Savior (2nd Peter 3:18), Saviour (Luke 2:11) and their God (with a capital “G”-John 20:28). He did not deny any of it in any way. Since Jesus Christ is “the truth” (John 14:6) he would’ve had to deny any part of it if it was not 100% true. Scripture tells us that God is above all other gods (Deuteronomy 10:17). What about the God of Isaiah 9:6? God is Holy, Holy Holy (3 times Holy- Isaiah 6:3, Revelation 4:8). Friend, remember that Satan wants to be God (Isaiah 14:14). Why would he ask Jesus to bow down and worship him (Matthew 4:9) if Jesus was not the Supreme being (John 5:18)? What would that prove? It would prove nothing if Jesus is not God in the flesh (1stTimothy 3:16). Remember that it was an impossibility for Jesus to fall, or sin. He was tempted in all areas as we are, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). Satan was defeated by the only One (Mark 12:29) eligible to defeat him (John 19:30). Christ cannot be an archangel (Hebrews 1:4) or any other created being (Rev. 5:13). There is only one way to salvation (John 14:6, Acts 16:31). Being a part of a certain church or denomination won't save you. Being baptized by water, or giving time or money won't save you. There is no form of work you can do that will help your salvation (Isaiah 64:6), because God only accepts the perfect work. The perfect sacrifice. Let the Holy Spirit guide you into alltruth (John 14:26), not a fallible man made organization (Matthew 24:24, 1st Corinthians 2:14).
The NWT is the only "translation" of scripture that has a god that is not of evil nature or will come to an end - the god of John 1:1. Every other "god" in the NWT and every "god" in every other translation is of evil nature and will come to an end.
